A NOTE TO OUR FRIENDS WHO LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE
CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES
Living Foods Dehydrators are large and made out of wood and they are very
heavy. When we ship them, the shipping costs are sky high. And that's
just what the shipping companies charge us. In many cases, the shipping
prices cost as much or more than the dehydrators themselves. We've looked
into UPS, mail, boats...but all are expensive.
We recommend the following alternatives:
- Get plans and build your own using local materials. With creativity, you
can find substitutes for the hard-to-find materials.
- Get plans and WAG and screening and flexacatches (the items you won't be
able to find elsewhere) and build your own. Shipping is still expensive
for those items, but not nearly what it costs for the dehydrator. The WAG
will cost $25 more if we have to edit it for a different power source than
the United States standard.
- Get plans, figure out how to build them and then sell them to your
neighbors. Amazingly enough, we actually do encourage this! (And yes,
people have set up their own businesses in different countries. In some
cases, they bought one dehydrator to use as a model and in others, they
just bought plans.)
